4 Reasons why YOU should use Instagram for your Business
Instagram is great, it might be up for debate that Instagram is quickly surpassing Facebook in popularity status! In my opinion, every business should be using Instagram to their advantage. All in all, it’s in my opinion that EVERY business should be using EVERY social media outlet that exists! Why wouldn’t you?!
So, here’s the deal – these are the 4 reasons why YOU should jump on the digital bandwagon of INSTAGRAM!
1. Instagram has no news feed algorithm
Think about Facebook; they are constantly changing and switching things around. One day all of your fans can see your fanpage post, the next day you’re getting half the interaction you did prior. AND NOW, Facebook made it so only 1-2% of your actual Facebook fans can see your post without spending money (this is commonly referred to as edgerank or algorithms)! Unbelievable!
Well, guess what!? Instagram has NO edgerank or algorithm. Every single image that you share to your Instagram feed is seen in the news feeds of your fans. So, what does this mean for your business? THIS MEANS THAT it is much easier to get more engagement and user interactions. However, don’t post images that nobody cares about – post images that are eye grabbers and draws people’s attention.
2. Humans are VISUAL
DID YOU KNOW: 93% of our communications with others is non-verbal?
IMAGES convey emotional responses to our audience. What we visually SEE has a significant effect on what we DO, who we are and how we feel. Since Instagram is all ‘image-based’ your business has an opportunity to convey a message in a unique way. Tip: Think before you post! Be thoughtful in what images you want representing your business.
3. Instagram Offers a Personal Touch
Not only are the various kinds of photo edits unique, but Instagram gives us the opportunity to give a personal touch to our business. It’s not uncommon to post ‘behind the scenes’ type photos on Instagram. People like to see WHO makes up the business, what goes on behind closed doors, etc. I would strongly advise against posting advertisement after advertisement – you will get nowhere and people WILL NOT follow you! Would you want to follow someone that was constantly in your face trying to sell you something? NO!
Make Instagram a home where customers can come to view interesting operations of your business, have a laugh and learn some valuable information!
4. Enter a New Market
As I mentioned earlier, Instagram is becoming QUITE popular; especially among the younger generations. Your business needs to be where YOUR customers are – and that is on Instagram (and all social media in general)! Ask yourself: who is your target demographic? You most likely have a clear vision of that type of person. BUT, what if you could open your market to a whole new set of demographical data? What if your business is missing out on sales because of the rise of social media and outlets such as Instagram? My advice: jump on board and see what all the fuss is about; you might be pleasantly surprised. After all, what do you have to lose?
